Re: [openss7] test and development
Phillipe,
We won't be in a position for doing testing for a week
or so, but you are welcome to contribute.
The sources which are on the web site are a snapshot of
my working directory for the Linux Kernel version of the
code. I have placed some notes on the STREAMS version
(that I am working on most) on the site. I am working
from the bottom up (from signalling link level towards
upper layers).
I don't have state machines for SCCP written yet (but
have the MTP L3 and L2 state machines from the kernel
code to insert into a STREAMS module.)
There are also two or three modules at the lower level
that will be of some interesting use: primarly the M3UA,
M2UA, and M2PA (well, even the SUA) of the IETF SIGTRAN
working group. These could be written using the free
reference implementation of SCTP.
As far as testing is concerned, if you have access to
SS7 test gear, you will need an interface card and a
PC to run the implementation against an SS7 protocol
tester. Barring the availability of a protocol tester,
you will be able to run the implementation back-to-back
with two systems to do testing.
You would not be able to start this testing for a number
of days yet, as I am furiously working on getting the
MTP L2 driver (on Sealevel ACB56 card) ready for test.
Where would you like to jump in?
