That's good news.  It explains a lot of delays.  Doing 20 or so
printk's every time that a message is sent can impair performance.
Quite interested in seeing any results with them turned off.

With debugs turned off, the logs should still reflect failed
assertions. Like the following:

> Jun  1 09:16:13 ernie kernel: sctp_fast_retrans_calc: ensure(sd) failed at sctp_input.c +197 

> Jun  1 09:16:13 ernie kernel: [10fast_retrans_calc: ensure(sd) failed at sctp_input.c +197 

Any of these indicate a bug.  I will chase this one.  If you collect
any more failed assertions, fire them my way.

Thanks again for the testing, I hope that it is not taking away
to much from other things you need to be doing...
