| System RequirementsDescription: OpenSS7 Resources System Requirements.Current Minimum System Requirements are as follows:
Just about any PC will do. Don't try to use a small memory footprint machine; however, 32M of memory should suffice. Most OpenSS7 drivers and modules do not use more than about 1M of kernel (combined). Intel architecture is not required. Most packages build on PPC, HPPA and other architectures supported by Linux. Also, Freescale systems running embedded Linux are also supported. The following architectures are known to work: The architectures above are the architectures that are available to the project for creating test builds. In general, just about any architecture supporting a current Linux kernel is usable. Current releases of OpenSS7 run nicely with kernels from 2.4.10 through 3.14. Any number of cores and process threads is supported, but the minimum is one (1). The releases packages run nicely on the following distributions: Other distributions should work as well. When installing from the tarball, the packages are probably compatible with a much broader array of distributions than those listed above. These are the distributions that we have available for creating and testing builds (at the time of writing). To develop from the CVS archive or to modify and then recompile the sources you will need the following tool chain: To build documentation, the build host also requires the following documentation tools:
