ComponentsThe Linux Data Link product provides a Data Link Provider Interface (DLPI) for Linux network interfaces as well as providing a Linux networking interface for STREAMS drivers supporting the Data Link Provider Interface (DLPI). The STREAMS INET product provides STREAMS based TCP/IP protocol suite for Linux Fast-STREAMS. The STREAMS SCTP project will provide STREAMS based SCTP protocol stack for Linux Fast-STREAMS. The STREAMS product provides a high-performance, production replacement for Linux STREAMS (LiS), called Linux Fast-STREAMS, or LfS, for short. OpenSS7 does not currently need any specific kernel projects other than STREAMS and the various drivers and modules. InterfacesTranport Layer Interface (TLI) Modules (timod, tirdwr) The STREAMS Transport Layer Interface (TLI) product provides an SVR 4.2 compliant TLI interface library, and a cooperating set of timod(4) and tirdwr(4) modules. The STREAMS X/Open Transport Interface (XTI) product provides an XNS 5.2 compliant XTI interface library, and a cooperating set of timod(4) and tirdwr(4) modules. Socket System Driver (socksys) and Module (sockmod) The STREAMS Socket System product provides an SVR 4.2 compliant socket system interface for Linux Fast-STREAMS. The STREAMS Sockets product provides an XNS 5.2, POSIX/SUSv3 compliant sockets interface to Streams supporting the Transport Provider Interface (TPI). STREAMS DDI/DKI Compatibility (strcompat) Modules The STREAMS compatibility modules product provides STREAMS DDI/DKI interface compatibility for most major UNIX STREAMS implementations, including AIX, HPUX, IRIX, LfS, LiS, MacOT, OSF/1, SVR 3.2, SVR 4.2, and UnixWare. | |||||||||||||||||||||
