| Operating SystemDescription: OpenSS7 Documentation Conformance.Linux SVR 4.2 MP STREAMS ConformanceOpenSS7 provides conformance test suites with each STREAMS package that performs conformance testing to appropriate standards and specifications. For the test suites themselves, please refer to the "Packages" page or the "Download" page. (Click on the area of interest in the image below and you will be taken to the pertinent conformance pages and then you can browse from there!)
Transport Layer Interface (TLI) The Linux Fast-STREAMS X/Open Transport Interface (XTI) or Transport Layer Interface (TLI) library is tested to OpenGroup XNS 5.2, UNIX '98 and POSIX/SUSv3 specifications. X/Open Transport Interface (XTI) The Linux Fast-STREAMS X/Open Transport Interface (XTI) or Transport Layer Interface (TLI) library is tested to OpenGroup XNS 5.2 and UNIX '98 specifications. As the current socksys project is incomplete, testing has not yet been formalized. As the current sockets project is incomplete, testing has not yet been formalized. The Linux Fast-STREAMS DL driver is tested for conformance with the "Data Link Provider Interface (DLPI) - Version 5.2" specification that is part of the OpenGroup XNS 5.2 and UNIX '98 specifications. The Linux Fast-STREAMS INET driver is tested for conformance with the "Transport Provider Interface (TPI) - Version 5.2" specification that is part of the OpenGroup XNS 5.2 and UNIX '98 specifications. The Linux Fast-STREAMS SCTP driver is tested for conformance with the "Transport Provider Interface (TPI) - Version 5.2" specification that is part of the OpenGroup XNS 5.2 and UNIX '98 specifications. Transport Provider Interface (TPI) All Linux Fast-STREAMS Transport Provider drivers are tested for conformance with the "Transport Provider Interface (TPI) - Version 5 Release 2" specification that is part of the OpenGroup XNS 5.2 and UNIX '98 specifications. Network Provider Interface (NPI) All Linux Fast-STREAMS Network Provider drivers are tested for conformance with the "Network Provider Interface (NPI) - Version 5 Release 2" specification that is part of the OpenGroup XNS 5.2 and UNIX '98 specifications. Data Link Provider Interface (DLPI) All Linux Fast-STREAMS Data Link Provider drivers are tested for conformance with the "Data Link Provider Interface (DLPI) - Version 5 Release 2" specification that is part of the OpenGroup XNS 5.2 and UNIX '98 specifications. Communications Device Interface (CDI) All Linux Fast-STREAMS Communications Device Provider drivers are tested for conformance with the "Communications Device Interface (CDI) - Version 5 Release 2" specification that is part of the OpenGroup XNS 5.2 and UNIX '98 specifications. Linux Fast-STREAMS is conformance tested in accordance with the IEEE POSIX Standard and OpenGroup Single UNIX® Specification. It is also protocol tested for conformance the System V Release 4 descriptions in the "UNIX® System V Release 4 Programmer's Guide -- STREAMS" documentation. Conformance test suites are included in the recent Linux Fast-STREAMS release packages. Linux STREAMS is conformance tested to the same standards. Again, conformance test suites are included in recent LiS release packages. However, LiS does not pass much more than 60% of the conformance test cases and is known to lock up on SMP kernels for as much as 20% of the test cases. The OpenSS7 Project does not currently perform conformance testing directly on kernels themselves. The project tests against many production kernels from many distributions; however, we do not test the kernels themselves. (A minor exception is performance testing of Linux kernel components, such as native pipes, against STREAMS based components, such as STREAMS-based pipes.) All Linux Fast-STREAMS Network Layer drivers are tested for conformance with the "Network Layer Interface (NLI) - Version 3" specification. All Linux Fast-STREAMS Link Layer drivers are tested for conformance with the "Link Layer Interface (LLI) - Version 3" specification. Wide Area Newtork Interface (WAN) All Linux Fast-STREAMS Wide Area Newtork drivers are tested for conformance with the "Wide Area Newtork Interface (WAN) - Version 3" specification. | |||||||||||||||||||||
