ACB-56 Device Driver

Description: OpenSS7 Product Status Device Driver ACB56

Overview:-

The ACB56 card is a single V.35 ISA card available from SeaLevel based on the Zilog MPCC chip. These cards available directly from Sealevel.

The ACB56 driver provides SS7 support for these cards. The driver provides the following interfaces:

Local Management Interface (LMI)
Signalling Data Terminal Interface (SDTI)
Signalling Link Interface (SLI)

History:-

Work on this driver started in January 1999. This driver was moved to the STREAMS version of the OpenSS7 SS7 stack in 2000.


Status:-

The ACB56 driver is in the Maintenance stage.

If there is sufficient interest, the driver will be enhanced to support the mutliple V.35 PCI cards also available from Sealevel and based on the same Zilog chip.

This component depends on the following interfaces:

Local Management Interface (LMI)
Signalling Data Terminal Interface (SDTI)
Signalling Link Interface (SLI)

This device driver is a Linux 2.4.x loadable module which depends on the ISA facilities of the Linux 2.4.x kernel series.

Test Results:-

Test programs and results for Q.781 conformance testing are available in the test sub-directory of the strss7 release code.

Release Package:-

The ACB56 driver is an integral part of the OpenSS7 SS7 stack and will be included in upcoming major releases. The ACB56 driver has been publicly released in the following release packages:

strss7-0.8.2.tgz
This is the current Linux 2.4.x LiS STREAMS release of the OpenSS7 SS7 stack.
strss7-0.7.8.tgz
This is a deprecated release which is replaced by more current strss7 releases above.
strss7-0.7.4.tgz
This is a deprecated release which is replaced by more current strss7 releases above.
strss7-0.7.2.tgz
This is a deprecated release which is replaced by more current strss7 releases above.
