| Linux Kernel SCTP (sctp) ReleaseDescription: OpenSS7 Public Release Packages sctp.The sctp public release package provides a Linux Kernel Native implementation of the Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP). This is a sockets implementation which is patched into the Linux 2.4.x kernel in the same manner as NET4 TCP/IP to provide a direct sockets implementation. This implementation is based on the same protocol engine core as the OpenSS7 SVR 4.2 STREAMS implementation of Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP). The sctp package has been deprecated for some time. It only worked as a module with 2.4 and some 2.6 kernels and is only here for historical purposes. See the releases of the openss7 package instead.
