OpenSS7 today announced Release 1.1.7.20131121 of the openss7 package.

(Edmonton, Alberta -- Nov 21, 2013)   OpenSS7 today announced Release 1.1.7.20131121 of the openss7 package.

This is the OpenSS7 package. It contains all of the OpenSS7 release code and documentation. This is the only package currently released by OpenSS7. This package contains all of the former sub-packages of the OpenSS7 Master Package.

This distribution is applicable to Linux 2.4, 2.6 and 3.x kernels and was targeted at ix86, x86_64, ppc and ppc64 architectures, but should build and install for other architectures as well.

This is the fifth release of the OpenSS7 package. This is a production grade release. All existing validation test suites run clean on supported distributions, production kernels and architectures.

Major features since the last release are as follows:

• Updated GNU build chain to m4-1.4.16, autoconf-2.69, automake-1.12.6, libtool-2.4.2, gettext-0.18.2, flex-2.5.37, bison-2.7, swig-2.0.9, autobuild-5.3, texinfo-4.13a, xz-5.0.4.
• Updated GNU build chain to m4-1.4.16, autoconf-2.69, automake-1.12.1, libtool-2.4.2, gettext-0.18.1, flex-2.5.35, bison-2.5, swig-2.0.7, autobuild-5.3, texinfo-4.13a, xz-5.0.3.
• Support for Archlinux.
• Support for Slackware.
• Support for 3.0.4-1-lts kernel from Archlinux.
• Support for OpenSS7 Live.

This is a public stable production grade release of the package: it deprecates previous releases. Please upgrade to the current release before reporting bugs.

As with other OpenSS7 releases, this release configures, compiles, installs and builds RPMs and DEBs for a wide range of Linux 2.4, 2.6 and 3.x rpm(8) and dpkg(1) based distributions, and can be used on production kernels without patching or recompiling the kernel.

This package is publicly released strictly under the GNU Aferro General Public License Version 3; however, commercial licensing is available. The release is available as an autoconf(1) tarball, SRPM, DSC, and a set of binary RPMs and DEBs for popular distributions.
